Rainbow Nopal

Rainbow Nopal

$23.00Price

This hand appliqué ornament or wall hanging is part of an original Tejas Folk Arts textile cactus collection inspired by vintage Mexican Tlaquepaque pottery of the 1940's.  It includes the characteristic multicolored cactus pads and multi-dotted earth called "granizo” (because of the resemblance to small balls of hail) replicated with embroidered French knots.

While all of these have a diameter of 4 inches, no one ornament is alike. Each ornament includes a hand-stitched nopal or prickly pear cactus with five different colored pads, and you may select from three border thread colors listed below.

  • About this item

Since this item is meant to be hung, the design is visible on one side. A dark brown felt was used for the back.

The felt used for these hand stitched items is either standard crafting felt of acrylic fibers and /or 100% polyester fiber made from recycled post-consumer plastic bottles.
